Clustering OpenCms 7.0.4 on Tomcat 5.5.27 on Windows XP or Ubuntu 9.04 or CentOS 5.3

You need to buy OCEE package from Alkacon, which provides all the documents and modules. The following is based on that.

The following works on Windows XP, Ubuntu 9.0.4 and CentOS 5.3.

1. the documents actually kind of suck. :)

2. to cluster, even though you don't have to install ldap and replication module, you do need to install all other modules include VFS doctor (maybe not, but I do have to install them)

3. to install the second server (slave server), removing all modules before setup doesn't work for me. I just copy the ROOT from the first server (primary server) and make some necessary change (I assume you know how to make these changes since you have been to the cluster stage)

4. As I use mod_proxy to eliminate /opencms/opencms, I used internal ip for the ocee-cluster.xml, and port number is needed. for example, you need to use http://192.168.1.1:8081/handleCluster (not accurate, the point is you have to use internal ip and port number) and http://192.168.1.2:8081/handleCluster.

5. make sure your server allow the other server access the port 8081, so mostly you need to change your firewall.
